Broom Ocean 37
Builder: CJ Broom & Sons, Brundall, Norfolk
Built: 160 between 1968 and 1983
MBY tested: Jan 1971
Dimensions: LOA 37ft 0in (11.28m), beam 12ft 4in (3.85m), draught 3ft 0in (0.95m), displacement 8 tons
General: Typical Broom aft cabin semi-displacement cruiser with raised bridge deck. Layouts mostly give six berths in three cabins
Power: Twin 145hp diesels, shaftdrive (export models 175hp)
Price guide: £35,000-£65,000
Surveyor's notes: Much-sought-after boat, especially for river cruising, but also exceptional seaboat. Surprisingly, earlier models (pre-1977) more popular than later ones, which did not have such a heavy lay-up and as a result are now more prone to osmosis.
