The importance of boaters – and red diesel – to the West Country economy has been highlighted by a high-profile meeting set up by MBM.

Editor Simon Collis and News Editor Stewart Campbell organised the meeting of local boaters and marine businesses, to explain to south-west MEP Giles Chichester why a heathly marine industry is vital to the economy of the West Country.

The story generated considerable interest in the local press, including positive articles in the Plymouth Evening Herald and Western Morning News.

It has now also been picked up by BBC 1’s The Politics Show. In a regional segment of the show, to be broadcast at 12pm on Sunday 2 July, the programme will highlight the economic benefits of keeping red diesel.
