Jeanneau and Beneteau get sporty

French builders Beneteau and Jeanneau are both showing off new sportscruisers at Southampton. Beneteau’s Monte Carlo 32 is the latest addition to its new sportscruiser line and looks like it packs plenty of style in for a price that stays close to £100,000, and that includes diesel power.
Jeanneau’s new Prestige 42S (pictured) sits higher up the food chain at around £260,000 but it looks a mighty fine thing. The first IPS powered boat from Jeanneau, with speeds of around 35knots expected, the 42S features an elegant, flowing hard top design that delivers a vast cockpit and a gaping sunroof.
Below decks the space race continues with two breath easy (sorry, but they do) ensuite cabins that both offer something a bit special. The mid-cabin is the proud owner of that eye-catching feature port cut into the starboard beam while the master finds space for a walk-in wardrobe. The interior cabinetry can look a little one-dimensional, but overall you can’t fault the clean, easy living style of the boat.
