Alan Burnard, 92, of Fairey fame, dies

Death marks the end of the Fairey Marine trio

Alan Burnard (pictured right), who created the Fairey Marine range of cruisers, died aged 92 on February 29.

He was a vital member of the of the team which headed Fairey Marine in the 1960s and 70s alongside Charles Currey and Peter Twiss. Currey died five years ago and Twiss last August.

Alan’s funeral will take place at Basingstoke Crematorium on Friday, March 16.
