Lancashire Police are treating as suspicious a fire that severely damaged a motor cruiser in Preston Marina. The 73ft Ocean Quest, later sank and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said that the blaze had gutted 90 per cent of the boat and her contents.

The alarm was raised at 10.49pm on Sunday 24 June, and fire crews arrived at the scene just six minutes later to find the brand new boat ‘well alight’. Ocean Quest was the first boat built in Preston for over 50 years, and had been fitting out at her marina berth for two months.
