Bavaria 450 Sport to launch at Boot Dusseldorf

Bavaria has announced that it will be expanding its sportscruiser range with the launch of the Bavaria 450 Sport at January’s Boot Dusseldorf boat show

Bavaria’s sportscruiser range is set to expand once again, with the German boatbuilder announcing details of its new flagship model, the Bavaria 450 Sport.

The 49ft model will be unveiled in its coupe guise at the 2015 Boot Dusseldorf boat show (17-25 January). Open, hard-top and soft-top versions will also be available to order.

Norbert Leifeld, product manager at Bavaria, said: “[With] the wealth of experience of the Bavaria development teams, we were able to work out the best of all ideas and solutions for a motor yacht of this size.

“Sporty handling and a comfortable and luxurious layout, with many clever details, stood us in good focus.”

Fit and finish

In terms of layout, Bavaria fans can choose between the two and three-cabin options, meaning that up to six can be accommodated overnight.

Above decks, the Bavaria 450 Sport’s cockpit dining table can seat up to ten, and storage space for a 3.1m dinghy means owners can easily drop anchor and explore secluded coves.

Hull number one will be fitted with the base-level twin Volvo D6 (370hp) set-up, which Bavaria estimates will deliver a top speed of 32 knots.

Later versions will offer more powerful twin 400hp Volvo D6s or IPS 600, which gives a maximum output of 870bhp. Meanwhile, bow thrusters and joystick control should make for effortless manoeuvring.

Teak decking and mahogany cabinetry add to the sense of on-board refinement, with British firm Design Unlimited taking care of the interior styling.

Optional extras include sunpads on the bow, Garmin GPS and a Fusion Marine stereo system.

Best of all, Bavaria seems set to maintain its reputation for value for money, as prices will start at around £280,000 (inc. VAT). The first deliveries are expected by September 2015, via UK importer Clipper Marine.

And while the Bavaria 450 Sport won’t arrive in time for the 2015 London Boat Show, Clipper Marine will still be bringing its largest collection of Bavaria models to date.
