But it was Sunseeker that brought the house down for the launch of the new Portofino 40 and Predator 80, accompanied by stirring renditions of Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Brittania.

This was followed by an appearance of Eddie Jordan, who is buying Sunseeker’s first 155 Yacht, and Formula 1 driver Jenson Button, who it was revealed is buying a Sunseeker 28 Metre.

Officially opening event were the heroes of the British Olympic and Paralympic sailing teams, including Ben Ainslie, who toured the event in a slow-moving motorcade of golf buggies.

The much-anticipated launch of the Pearl 75 followed, and Fairline also introduced the new Squadron 60 and Targa 62.
