Birmingham Boat Show opens its doors

Initial reactions are positive from the Midlands event, with over 250 boats on display

The National Boat, Caravan and Outdoor Show opened at the NEC this morning, and organisers are hoping the more than 250 boats on show are enough to pull in the punters.

The Boats & Marine Hall, of which MBM and ybw.com are the exclusive sponsors for the second year running, is impressively packed with a wide selection of craft, from inland cruisers to large trawler yachts.

And if today is anything to go by, the show is on the right track. The marine hall seemed busy, and the initial noises from exhibitors MBM spoke to were overwhelmingly positive.

There are no massive changes to the layout of the boating section this year, although MBM has a new and improved stand right at the entrance to Hall 1. A member of the MBM team will be on hand throughout the show, so if you pay the NEC a visit, make sure you swing by the stand.

Show organiser Karen Dodd was upbeat about the show’s chances of defying the doom and gloom. She told MBM: “It’s great having MBM and ybw.com here supporting the show and generating some boating interest.

“And despite the headlines, we’re really looking forward to a successful show and have already had some great feedback from exhibitors.”
