Graffiti has been painted over the whole hull of a cargo ship – but with its owner’s permission. NileDutch Africa Line said it values graffiti as progressive, modern and active, and it wanted to give young artists a chance to present their art.

Artists were invited to use the 32,000-tonne NileDutch Kwanza as a canvas during its regular calls at Antwerp, Rouen and Lisbon. 29 Dutch, 6 Belgian, 7 French and 5 Portuguese took up the challenge, and the results will be left on the ship for six months.
