Countdown to Dusseldorf: Privateer Trawler 65

The Privateer Trawler 65 is the largest boat to come from the Dutch yard

See it: 6/A27

This is the largest boat that Dutch steel specialist Privateer has ever built and it’s also one of the most interesting.

Look closely at the Privateer Trawler 65 and you will notice that the boat doesn’t have a cockpit. The owner thought – quite rightly – that with such an enormous flybridge why bother with even more outdoor space when you could extend your interior?

The result is one of the most unique and comfortable saloons we have ever seen. With the end of the saloon squared off and sliding doors either side, you get two cosy corners in which there are a pair of snug arm chairs with brilliant views aft out of the rear windows.

Access to the flybridge had to be thought about as there is no cockpit to put a staircase in, but a ladder that goes from the bathing platform to the flybridge solves the problem at the aft end and an internal staircase in the pilothouse gives another easy route at the other end.
