The hunt is on for unsung heroes of the boating world in the Royal Yachting Association’s Community Awards.

The annual awards are made in three categories:

Lifetime Commitment: someone who has shown exceptional commitment and dedication over a number of years.

Outstanding Contribution: someone who has volunteered for less than five years but who has made a significant contribution. This could be a one-off contribution.

Youth: someone under the age of 25 on 1 October 2005 who has demonstrated a regular commitment and/or inspirational contribution to the sport.

Last year’s awards were presented at a glittering ceremony by Olympic sailing medallists Sarah Webb (pictured) and Joe Glanfield.
