Eastbourne boaters were out in force for a sail and power regatta that raised more than £10,000 for the RNLI.

The event, organised by Sovereign Harbour Marina, featured dinghy and yacht racing, the “tender Olympics”, and challenges for powerboaters including having to pick up rubber ducks using a boat hook.

The funds will go to the support of the Eastbourne lifeboats and their crews.

Mark Sawyer, coxswain of the Eastbourne all-weather lifeboat, said: “There are so many people that made this such an outstanding event and we thank them all.”
