English Harbour 27 to get Southampton show debut

English Harbour Yachts is preparing to unveil a 27ft cruiser at the Southampton Boat Show

English Harbour Yachts has revealed the first design images of a new 27ft cruiser, which will have its public debut at the PSP Southampton Boat Show (12-21 September).

Hoping to avoid difficult second album syndrome, the Oundle boatbuilder has once again teamed up with Andrew Wolstenholme, who provided the hull design for last year’s EH 16 launch.

The former Broom and Hardy designer has created the hull for this new cruiser model, while inhouse designer Adam Greenwood has devised the interior with a twin-cabin layout and 6ft 5in headroom in the saloon.

The aft cabin can be set up as either a twin or a double, while the saloon’s dinette can turn into a second double bed.

Extra-wide walkaround decks make this a safe and practical option for families and boatowners looking to cruise long distances.

Power is provided by a 75bhp Volvo saildrive, which promises smooth and efficient cruising, as well as a 12 knot top speed – a significant upgrade on the EH 16’s more leisurely 8 knot limit.

The price has not yet been revealed, but since the last model cost £21,000, you can expect the EH 27 to be surprisingly reasonable.

Those hoping to get a first look at the English Harbour 27 should head along to Stand E053, just next to the show marina.
