Italian Guido Cappellini takes newcomer aboard for Italian Grand Prix

Italian Formula 1 champion Guido Cappellini (pictured right) has confirmed an all-Italian line-up with Marcello Menegatto (left) set to make his Class 1 debut at the Italian Grand Prix on Lake Maggiore.

Cappellini, with Menegatto on throttles, will run the twin Mercury V8 powered Michael Peters-designed Tencara, MenMar Luxury Constructions.

Guido Cappellini made his racing debut in 1997 in the Venice-Monte Carlo, competing in the Endurance Championships from 1998 to 2001, winning Italian, European and World titles, before moving to F2 in 2003 and into F1 a year later.

He currently lies fourth in powerboating’s Formula 1 World and European Championship standings after two fourth’s and two third place podium finishes in Brazil and Sweden.
