Ferretti begins work on Apreamare facility

Work has begun on a 150,000sq m Apreamare boat/Ferretti Group production centre at Torre Annunziata in Naples, Italy.

Work has begun on a 150,000sq m Apreamare boat/Ferretti Group production centre at Torre Annunziata in Naples, Italy.

Apreamare was bought by the Ferretti Group in August last year. The new production unit will create over 250 direct jobs with a starting production rate of 500 units. As well as Apreamare boats, the production facility will also be used to build larger models from the Ferretti Group.

With an overall investment of Euro 45 million, the 150,000sq m yard, 600 sq m of which will be under cover, is due to be completed within 36 months. A 10,000 sq m dock is also to be built providing around 100 moorings. It will also have a travel-lift capable of working on large-size boats making it easier and quicker to carry out testing, sea trials and hauling for all Ferretti Group boats.

“For Apreamare this large-scale investment in the new boat production centre will allow the development and expansion of our company, which has already been at a major level in recent years, to continue,” said Cataldo Aprea, managing director of the Sorrento-based company.
