Belfast has been named as the final destination of the bow section of the stricken container ship MSC Napoli. Tugs are towing it to the Harland & Wolff shipyard for demolition.

Contracts for the removal of the after section, which includes the engines and bridge, are currently being negotiated, but it is likely that equipment will be brought to Branscombe Beach to dismantle this section in situ. Salvage of the 62,200-ton vessel is estimated so far to have cost around £50 million.
