Fire destroys boat in St Olave's Marina

Fire destroyed a motorcruiser in a Suffolk marina overnight. The blaze is reported to have broken out aboard a 44ft Birchwood moored in St Olave’s Marina at around 2.20am.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, assisted by the RNLI South Broads lifeboat, confirmed that nobody was aboard the cruiser, and succeeded in extinguishing the blaze. Anti-pollution booms were deployed by marina staff, and the incident was declared over at 5am.
