Event set up in response to collapse of Liverpool Boat Show last month

The cloud created by the collapse of the Liverpool Boat Show now has a silver lining in the shape of the inaugural Sandbanks Boat Show, which has been launched by Salterns Marina in Poole.

The event, on from 7-8 May, will be free to attend and already has more than 50 confirmed boats, from brands like Sunseeker, Princess, Fairline, Beneteau, Windy, Greenline and Sea Ray.

Salterns spokesperson Russell Hayden said: “We were more than disappointed when informed by the organisers [of the Liverpool Boat Show] of the sudden late decision to abandon the show.

“We know there are too many important boat brands within our area to not do something to try and salvage what could have been potentially a great show and ultimately lead to sales.

“We have a huge range of diverse products, plus a large client base which would welcome such an event at the beginning of the boating season.”
