The Great Ouse Boating Association turns 50 this year, and next week its members are celebrating
The Great Ouse Boating Association turns 50 this year, and preparations for its big birthday celebrations continue apace.
So far more than 200 people and 80 boats have registered to attend the event, which is taking place on Saturday 2 August on Nobles Field in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
According to organisers, interest in such that boats will have to be moored three or four abreast on the river.
The programme of events includes a games afternoon, a picnic and live music from local bands. There will also be a raffle, a hog roast and more ice cream than you can stomach.
