Haines 32 Offshore sets top speed record on Suffolk sea trials

Haines Marine has given its new 32 Offshore a proper shakedown in advance of its unveiling at the PSP Southampton Boat Show

The brand new Haines 32 Offshore has taken to the water in advance of its official launch at next month’s PSP Southampton Boat Show (12-21 September).

Before its unveiling, the Norfolk-based manufacturer decided to give the 32 Offshore a proper shakedown to assess the performance of the new Andrew Wolstenholme hull.

As the picture above shows, the angle of the chines helps to minimise spray and its low to intermediate planing speeds should help increase fuel efficiency.

Off the Lowestoft coast, the cruiser proved its offshore credentials by recording a top speed of 20 knots, when powered by a single Nanni T4 270hp engine, a full two knots faster than the Haines team had predicted.

Justin Haines, director at Haines Marine, spoke of his excitement ahead of next month’s public unveiling: “In bringing this new model to the South Coast, the boat will be in an environment in which it is well suited.”
