Hustler goes full throttle!

Southampton duo in flash new US boat

Southampton-based duo Vee Ganjavian and Charlie Williams-Hawkes will be competing in an American-built Hustler hull in the SuperSport Class of the 2007 world P1 series. In their 2006 debut season both pilots acquitted themselves well, finishing seventh despite their Sunseeker XS being someway off the pace.

In the US, Hustler Powerboats has a racing heritage steeped in success and Team Hustler plan to extend this into Europe with a Hustler 388 Slingshot powered by twin diesel engines. The boat, considered one of the sleekest, fastest and most technologically advanced in its class, can reach speeds of around 90mph and there is considerable optimism on both sides of the Atlantic that a world title challenge is achievable.

Driver and proprietor of Team Hustler is Vee Ganjavian, a successful businessman and entrepreneur whose thrill for speed is underlined by a successful racing career on land and sea. His decision to invest in a new state-of-the-art craft clearly demonstrates his determination to win. The team will take delivery of the boat in March and an intense test programme will follow in preparation for the first Grand Prix of the 2007 P1 Championship in Malta on 5th May.

Experienced racer Charlie Williams-Hawkes, 29, will continue to partner Vee both on the water and in a new business venture importing and selling Hustler Powerboats in the UK. Ranging from 21 -50 ft, all with standard production hulls and fully customisable options, the new company, Voom Voom Marine, located in Southampton, will use its entry in the Powerboat P1 world series as a marketing platform for these custom-made pleasure powerboats.
