Italian RIB with “special tubes”

Space-saving design

It may look pretty normal, but this RIB apparently boasts “special tubes” to save space inside the boat.

It is built by Italian firm BWA Nautica and is the first of their new Evolution range.

A spokesman says: “We have seen lots of RIBs with reduced collar size but this invention leaves a perfect round circle outside, cutting only the inside sector. An easy idea, but certainly very difficult to make.”

The inflatable collar is manufactured heavy duty Hypalon in five chambers, bonded to the deck and the hull.

The Evolution 23 is designed for twin outboard engines up to 230hp in total, but the manufacturers say with 2 x 150hp top speed is 40 knots.
