Jeanneau’s New Concept is four boats in one

You have to hand it to Jeanneau; not content with serving up a massive 11 new boats last year, the French builder has begun 2010 with something that is not only a new model but an entirely new type of motorboat.

Taking some of the best ideas from its own Leader range and using designs seen on brands like Sealine, Aquador, Nimbus and Fjord, the NC11 (New Concept) is a sterndrive-powered coupe cruiser packed with light and lots of toys.

From the stern the transom slides aft to create more deck space while quadruple cockpit doors open up the wheelhouse. Similar to the Fjord 40, this arrangement, together with a flush deck, allows the interior seating to serve either the cockpit or wheelhouse saloon.

Further forward the dinette seating can again transform into a raised navigator’s bench while to port the helm position comes with a proper side door out to the deck. The whole wheelhouse is wrapped in glass and overhead a large sunroof adds to the light show.

Below decks its long Leader-style window borders two cabins and a toilet with a separate shower stall.

Mixing so many great ideas together into one 36ft package is pretty exciting, and a likely price tag of £190,000 inc VAT means this is one New Concept that is likely to catch on.

We’ll post 360° images of the boat here in the coming days.
