Kolbjorn Selmer to partner Tanberg in Norwegian GP

Norwegian champion aims for hat-trick in Arendal

Jorn Tandberg will line up with different driver for the third time in as many races when he starts the defence of his European title at the BMW Norwegian Grand Prix in Arendal, 17-19 July.

Tandberg will be joined in the cockpit of the Mercury V8-powered Welmax by fellow Norwegian, Kolbjorn Selmer, as he bids for a hat-trick of wins in Arendal, taking his first in 2006 with Christian Zaborowski. He did it again last year with Inge Brigt Aarbakke, en route to the European title which they snatched from Victory 1 by a point after winning the Romanian Grand Prix.

The new partnership was out on the waters of Tandberg’s home town of Larvik last week to grab some much needed time in the boat.

“We took the opportunity to shake down the boat and to give Kolbjorn and myself some time to get used to each other,” said throttleman, Tandberg. “Everything went well and we are looking for a good performance in Arendal which is a course that really suits the boat.”

Selmer made his Class 1 debut in the Romanian Grand Prix in 2007 alongside Domenico Cirilli, before teaming up with Giampaolo Montavoci later in the year and running with the Italian in 2008. His best finish was a fourth placing in the Egyptian Grand Prix.
