Motorboats, private yachts, tugs and fireboats will form the centrepiece of the Mayor’s Thames Festival in London this weekend. They will sail from Greenwich to Westminster and back, together with pleasure boats and Livery company vessels as part of Saturday’s River Pageant.

Other events due to take place on the river over the weekend include the Great River Race from Richmond to Island Gardens on Saturday, downstream from Tower Bridge and barge and cutter races on Sunday.
The Mayor’s Thames Festival is a free celebration of London and its river, and will also include a host of shoreside activities and attractions.
