Two giant hovercraft, which were withdrawn from cross-Channel service eight years ago, may be reactivated. Reports from Canada suggest that the 325-tonne hovercraft may be acquired to operate a car and passenger service across Lake Ontario.

The Princess Margaret and The Princess Anne have languished in the Hovercraft Museum at Lee-on-the-Solent since being replaced on the Dover to Calais route by fast catamarans.
