New look powerboat festival planned for Cowes

Europe’s leading event to be supported by on-shore family entertainment

Organisers of The Round Britain Land, Sea and Air Race 2010 have announced a raft of entertainment to coincide with the event over the August Bank Holiday.

Sponsors RB12.com are hoping to attract the crowds and have introduced a packed programme of family entertainment in Cowes, including the Red Arrows and a Lynx helicopter display by the Royal Navy.

The Festival – one of the most keenly contested competitions in the world of powerboat racing – is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its headline event, the Cowes Torquay Cowes. For the attending public and international race boat crews, Cowes Yacht Haven will be a hub of activity throughout a week of powerboating.

Street entertainment, live music, a food court, stalls and displays will provide an exciting array of off-water highlights for the public culminating in spectacular Red Arrows fly-overs on Thursday 26, Friday 27 and Sunday 29 – the day of the Cowes Torquay Cowes race.

Red Jet high speed ferries are supporting the event with special family tickets available at £26 for adult and child groups of up to four.
