Nimbus and Paragon sold to Swedish investment firm

New home found for two popular motor boat brands after bankruptcy earlier in July

Nimbus and Paragon have been acquired by Swedish investment company R12, it was announced today.

The two motor boat brands were part of the Nimbus Group, which filed for bankruptcy in early July.

Current Nimbus MD Magnus Andersson will continue to lead the company during the handover phase.

“We will continue to build our success with a wider range of our Nimbus Coupe, that was nominated boat of the year 2012 with a bigger 40ft aiming for the European, Russian and Asian markets,” said Andersson.

Ryds, a former brand within the Nimbus stable, was bought last week by the company’s MD, Tom Kuhne, and chairman, Christer Johansson.

Storebro
, meanwhile, the last motor boat brand in the portfolio, has been sold to Roger von Haugwitz, a Storebro owner, who said he would “continue to further develop this brand”.
