The EU has given an £800,000 grant with the task to find new ways of removing sediment from waterways, removing the need for disposal sites




The project, which will run until 2014, will also help fund an extension to the sediment island at Duck Broad.

John Packman, Broads Authority chief executive said, “One of the techniques we want to explore is the use of equipment to remove water from the material dredged from Broads, so that we have less to dispose of.”
