Pirate boaters charged

American "pirates" end up on the wrong side of the law

A pair of Massachusets men have been arrested after trying to rob a yacht whilst driving “a small motorboat flying the skull and crossbones”.

Scott D. Stanton and Stephen Jette were arrested late on Thursday night in Gloucester, Massachuset’s Inner Harbour having tried to board and rob Douglas Campbell’s yacht, according to the Gloucester Times.

Stanton and Jette fled the scene after Campbell ran them off his yacht and attempted to evade police launches before finally being run down – in a nearby inlet called Pirate’s Cove.

Stanton was held due to an outstanding bench warrant for his arrest issued in Salem for multiple offences while Jette was charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony.
