RNLI tweet goes global

25,000 retweets for London Lifeboats

 An RNLI photograph has received global awareness and celebrity acclaim after a volunteer crewman posted it on Twitter this week. Tower Bridge station crew Matt Leat posted an image of the lifeboat shrouded in mist at the famous London landmark. So far the picture has 25,000 retweets, from New Zealand and Barbados to Korea and Hong Kong. Several famous faces have retweeted their support, including Jake Humphrey, Dave Berry, Gaby Logan and Kirstie Allsopp. Matt Leat was overwhelmed with the reaction and said: “Anything that raises awareness of our charity is a good thing.”
