Royal Navy frigate to visit Jersey Boat Show

Class 23 frigate will arrive at the island on 2 May and stay until 6 May

A Royal Navy frigate has been lined up to appear at the inaugural Jersey Boat Show, on from 3-5 May.

HMS Kent, a Class 23 frigate, will arrive in Jersey on 2 May and stay until 6 May. Its officers and crew will go ashore during the show to help with safety provision and provide other support.

Weather permitting, public visits will be done to the ship via shuttle to its anchorage off the island.

Commander Simon Hopper, HMS Kent’s CO, said: “HMS Kent’s officers and crew are looking forward to visiting Jersey and are particularly pleased that the visit coincides with the Jersey Boat Show and start of the Liberation Day celebrations.”
