A host of events makes the weekend in May a motorboating bonanza

The motor boat division of the Royal Southern Yacht Club is to host its Open Motor Boat Weekend for the 12th year from its base on the Hamble on 27-29 May.

The Open Motor Boat Weekend incorporates practical tests of seamanship, including a Predicted Log and a Poker Run held on the Solent.

Berthing has been reserved at Cowes Yacht Haven for lunch on Saturday, May 28, before a Poker Run returns participants to the Hamble.

Sunday will see a Treasure Hunt competition before lunch and prize-giving at the club.

The Royal Southern Yacht Club has invited a selected number of motor boat distributors to enter the C-Quip Predicted Log as a separate class.

The craft entered by the winning distributor will be awarded the C-Quip Marine Distributor Trophy.

Fleming Yachts are the first to confirm their entry of a Fleming 65 Motor Yacht (pictured).

There will be a number of awards for individuals and groups including

the three-boat Inter-Club Team Trophy. A separate event will be held for

RIBs competing for the EP Barrus Trophy.
