Search for fisherman continues off Anglesey

A fisherman who fell overboard 15 miles offshore without a lifejacket is still missing

Authorities were alerted about a fisherman who went missing at 02:29 GMT, but he was last seen at 00:45 GMT this morning.

According to the BBC News website, when going overboard he was only wearing jeans and a t-shirt but no lifejacket. Roy Carson, rescue co-ordination manager for Holyhead coastguard, said, “The problem we’ve got at this time of the year is the sea temperature is only 8C.”

Seven boats, three of which are lifeboats, are coordinating a search covering an area of 60 sq miles off Anglesey in a vain hope to find the man.

The missing man is yet to be named, although it is thought to be believed he is a regular crew member of a Scottish based trawler.
