Good weather enabled the 900 miles to be logged in 48 hours 7 minutes, an average of 19 knots. But it wasn’t quite fast enough to catch this morning’s 0700 convoy through the Suez Canal and so the would-be circumnavigation record-breakers look as though they have a 24-hour delay on their hands.
