Team Pulsar Racing aims for round Ireland prize

Current record holders enter two boats in Around Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race

Team Pulsar Racing, the team that broke the round-Ireland speed record late last year, are entering two boats in the upcoming Around Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race in June.

Team leader Justin McInerney and Andrew Varley will be racing in the specialist 10m Humber Quinquari RIB Seawolf, while teammates Derek Stanley and Ralph Gunn will take to the water in Wolf, an 8.5m Humber Quinquari RIB.

Late last year McInerney and team broke the round-Ireland speed record, completing the circumnavigation in 19 hours, 9 minutes and 50 seconds.

The Around Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race will take place between 5-12 June, and will see international teams compete over five stages spread over six days.

Starting from Galway, the race heads for Killybegs on 7 June, Bangor on 8 June and Waterford on 9 June. A lay day will follow before the fleet heads for Fenit on 11 June, and the finish line at Galway.
