Visitors and exhibitors bask in glorious sunshine on the opening day of the 2009 PSP Southampton Boat Show

The sun is out on this, the opening day of the 41st PSP Southampton Boat Show.

Motor Boats Monthly will be reporting throughout the show, and uploading photos to our online image gallery .

Already today the celebs have done their star turns, with Sophie Ellis-Bextor officially opening the show, and Eddie Jordan cutting the ribbon on the enormous Sunseeker Predator 130 (a steal at £10.6m).

Advance tickets sales are running some 35% ahead of last year, which may signal that the great boating public has tired of the doom and gloom and decided to come and salivate over some of the best boats on the water.

The MBM team has been scurrying between press calls, attending launches for the Sealine F46 and new Bavaria 28, to name a few. We’ll be uploading reports on some of the most exciting boats at the show to our website over the coming days.

In the meantime, you can find all you need to know about the show on YBW’s PSP Southampton Boat Show page .
