Try a Boat weekend in Brixham successful

Annual event gains following

Almost 400 people took part in the ‘try a boat’ initiative at Brixham Marina after South Devon companies joined forces to help boost sales.

It was the third annual ‘Try a Boat’ weekend in Brixham and dealers are thrilled with the response the event generated.

‘Try a Boat’ ran across the Bank Holiday weekend (23, 24 and 25 May), operating from the Events Pontoon in Brixham Marina, open to the public and free of charge.

George Turpin, Principal of Plain Sailing, said: “This initiative was a real breath of fresh air, allowing people to get out on the water and ‘have a go’ on, or even just take a look round the boat of their choice.

“All of the boats were fully booked each day and of course the wonderful weather helped make it a fun time for everyone.”
