Try before YOU buy – drive some of the coolest sportsboats on the water with MBY

Sign up for MBY’s sea trial event and drive some of the world’s best sportsboats including XO, Axopar, Scorpion, Williams and Sealegs

MBY is offering 50 readers the chance to drive some of the most exciting new sportsboats and RIBs on the market.

We would never buy a boat without sea trialling it first and we don’t think you should either, that’s why we’ve arranged for some of the UK’s top builders, dealers and importers to make their craft available for MBY readers to drive for one day only.

The full list of boats includes Axopar, Scorpion, XO, Sealegs, Cobra, Williams, Ribeye, Brig and Shearwater.

This exclusive event is taking place at Portland Marina in Dorset on Saturday July 18. Just 50 spaces are available with tickets costing £25 each. The tickets include hospitality and refreshments courtesy of Dean and Reddyhoff Marinas.

Jack Haines and Hugo Andreae will be on hand from Motor Boat & Yachting to help answer your questions as well as representatives from all the boat dealers, who will accompany you on board their craft and check that you are safe to drive.

This exclusive sea trial event is being run for the benefit of genuine potential boat buyers and spaces will be allocated on that basis. All applicants wishing to drive the boats must be over the age of 21 with a maximum of two tickets per application (ticket holders under the age of 21 may be allowed on as passengers).

If you are interested in taking part in this exclusive sea trial event please send an email to mby@timeinc.com with ‘MBY Sea Trial Event’ in the subject line.

Please include your full name, year of birth, the make and model of your current boat (if you have one), your boat handling experience and when you intend to buy your next craft, as well as a postal address and day time telephone number we can contact you on. Successful applicants will be notified and payment requested by Monday July 13.

Time Inc. (UK) and the supplying boat dealers will collect your personal information solely to process your request. We can’t control the weather on the day so we reserve the right to turn down applicants and postpone or cancel the event and return your money. There may not be time for everyone to drive all the boats and the dealers have the final say on who is allowed to helm their boats.
