Meet the 26-year-old narrowboater who landed the Lotto jackpot.
Lucky Richard Lang says he’s going to buy a canal boat after scooping a whopping £867,454 on the Lotto jackpot.
But the 26-year-old employee of British Waterways says he won’t give up his job.
He had to ask his mum Yvonne to check the numbers again after he read them on Ceefax.
“I just sat there for five minutes, my mind went blank. I still can’t believe it,” the Loughborough man said.
Lucky Lang, a waterways operative on the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line, plans to buy his mum a washing machine.
He added: “I love the canals and the beautiful Leicestershire countryside looks even better from a canal boat. I have always wanted one and thanks to my win I can make my dream come true.”
