A 30-tonne monster that belies its enormity with its agility and addictive handling

Pros and Cons
For: Superb handling, refined ride, 35-knot top speed
Against: Cheap-looking dash, handholds in cockpit

On a day of sideways rain and Force 6 winds in mid-February we decided to take a Sunseeker Predator 60 from Poole to Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight, to see how a sportscruiser designed for the Med handled some nasty British weather.

It's fair to say that the Sunseeker handled the task with utter composure and minimum fuss, belittling the elements to the point of mockery; the video above shows just how agile this 30-tonne brute is.

On board, the cockpit is what it's all about – the perimeter is lined with comfortable seating and an impressively well specified wet-bar with ice maker, fridge, sink and griddle lies opposite a generous and useful dinette.

Down below, the saloon and accommodation are a comforting and cosy contrast to the lively handling, with light woods and plush materials combining to create a lovely space to retire to at the end of the day.
