Could this latest Paragon be even better than its smaller sibling, the 25?

Pros and Cons
For: Excellent hull, thrilling handling, effortless cruising, safety and practicality, solid build, usability, light and ventilation, foam collar, large berths
Against: Expensive for its size, could be faster, storage in aft cabin

In the Paragon 25 MBY found a boat that suited itself so brilliantly to the British way of boating we thought it may never be surpassed. Now though the 25's big sister is muscling in on the action and could be the perfect solution for somebody who wants a no-nonsense, go-anywhere, hard-as-nails wheelhouse cruiser.

It's not going to win any beauty contests but the Paragon 31 is handsome in a rugged sort of way, the upright windscreens give it the look of a commercial vessel but the comfortable accommodation and solid build make it sensationally practical.

Sleeping accommodation is surprisingly generous for a 32ft boat - the aft cabin, in fact, has three berths, all a generous size but there is a lack of storage.

The upper helm is a genuinely valuabe addition, serving much more of a purpose than simply letting a light breeze dance through your follicles - it really does enhance the driving experience.

The largest engine installation, a single Volvo Penta 370hp D4, will give a top speed of 36 knots.
