Sarnico Arcidiavolo GT - the seakeeping of a monohull, with the pace and efficiency of a cat
What they say “The Arcidiavolo GT concept boat from Cantieri di Sarnico will become a production boat and a raceboat.”
Designed by powerboating legend Sonny Levi, the hull is said to combine the seakeeping of a monohull, with the pace and efficiency of a cat. Twin Yanmar turbo diesels on the leisure version give a claimed top speed of 59 knots with optional go-faster metallic paint and custom graphics to make sure everyone notices. Sarnico say the craft can be “enriched and refined” with accessories like leather upholstery, cabrio tops and a cabin in the bows with heads.
There are also options for tuning, with stainless steel propellers and helmets branded with the Arcidiavolo logo, not to mention high-power stereo systems.
The 80-knot race version is powered by twin 850hp Mercury engines, but unfortunately you need to be a licenced pilot to drive it.
This is a catamaran up front with a single planing hull aft, that was first unveiled as a one-off concept at the 2007 Genoa Boat Show. Now the Italian builders are going into production, with both a raceboat and a 'street' version for us leisure boaters to enjoy.
