VIDEO: Princess 480 used boat buyer’s guide

In this month’s Used Boat report, we head to Brighton Marina to inspect a flybridge with serious pedigree – the Princess 480

Buying a boat that is more than 10 years old can be fraught with danger, but if you stick with renowned names, you can’t go far wrong, as this Princess 480 shows.

For this month’s Used Boat report, we take a look at a 1996 model that is on the market through Princess Motor Yacht Sales.

A fine example of Bernard Olesinski’s planing hulls, the 480 boasts twin shaft-drive engines from either Volvo Penta or Caterpillar, for a top speed of around 30 knots.

The three-cabin layout in this model is great for a small family, although some models switched the lower dinette for an extra bunk bed cabin on the portside.

This particular owner has made some clever tweaks, including modifying the saloon cabin to install a large flatscreen TV and updating the flybridge nav gear.
