Earlier this year Azimut came out all guns blazing with its claim that the Magellano 43 is “the best boat for British people”.

Now we at Motor Boat & Yachting aren’t ones to let such bold claims go untested, so we sent Dave Marsh out to sea to put this assertion to the test.

Simply crossing the Channel wasn’t deemed tough enough for the Magellano 43, so Dave opted for the most challenging route he could conceive, including detours via the Alderney Race and the Needles.

In our latest sea trial video Dave gives his impressions of how this Italian-built trawler deals with everything the British weather has to throw at it.

The semi-displacement hull comes in for particular praise, as it simply refuses to slam, crash or bang.
