VIDEO: Prestige 630 review

A trip from Barcelona to Valencia gives Jack Haines the perfect opportunity to get beneath the skin of the new Prestige 630

When we were offered the chance to take the Prestige 630 from the Barcelona Boat Show to Valencia we jumped at the chance.

It’s rare to be offered time to properly get under a boats skin and use on a typical cruise in a real world environment. You find out what it’s like to crew, how refined it is on a long journey, real time fuel data, how the galley works on the move and many other aspects of what makes a boat a good long-distance companion.

As we were to discover, though, some of the test was a little too real life for our liking. Watch the video above to see why…

The boat is an update of the old 620 but there’s more too it than just the obvious aesthetic alternation to bring the styling into line with the 680 and 750. The boat has a brand new J&J hull, powered by IPS950 and, on board, the 630 now has Prestige’s trademark separate access master, a more spacious VIP cabin and a 2ocm larger galley.

The flybridge mimics almost identically that of the 680, which is no bad thing as the 680’s possesses an ideal balance of seating, lounging and cooking space. The 630’s is no different and can be covered by an optional or bimini or €55,500 hardtop.
