VIDEO: Secret Cornwall – part 1

John Boyle takes to the little known hideaways of the Cornish Riviera on his Princess V39 and delves into the nooks and crannies of the place he calls home

Cornwall is one of Europe’s finest cruising destinations and also plays home to intrepid film maker and keen boater John Boyle.

John has featured in MBY and on the website before, detailing his epic cruises both on his Sealine S34 and his most recent purchase, a Princess V39, which he delivered from Mallorca back to Falmouth himself.

His latest adventure, though, is closer to home and sees him exploring the hidden secrets of the fabulous Cornish coastline.

From little known parts of the River Looe, to the isolated charm of Lantic Bay and Gweek, John’s knowledge of the local area will open your eyes to cruising destinations off the beaten track and away from the crowds.

He visits Mevagissey and takes up one of the handful of visitor buoys and one of Cornwall’s formerly notorious smuggling holes, Portloe before snaking up the River Fal to Truro, a unique experience, usually only undertaken by sightseeing ferries.

With stunning camera work by John and his team, and his own charming brand of commentary, the video above is a must-see if you plan to cruise the area yourself or just wish escape for a few minutes.
