Award-winning actress Michelle Keegan will add a splash of glamour to the 10-day Southampton Boat Show tomorrow.

Michelle, star of the BBC drama Our Girl, is no stranger to water sports and is excited about the hundreds of boats on display.

“I am thrilled to be opening the Southampton Boat Show this year and really excited to spend some time soaking up the atmosphere and experiencing some of the brilliant attractions on offer,” said Michelle.

“The show attracts visitors new to boating and avid sailors as well as a host of famous names. We’re thrilled that Michelle will be joining us,” said Murray Ellis, British Marine Boat Shows Managing Director.

Visitors can experience first-hand what life aboard an ocean racing yacht is like and try stand-up paddle boarding, the latest craze.

Feature boats include the Norwegian three-masted sailing barque, Artemis.

Leading British luxury motor yacht manufacturer, Fairline, will host the highly anticipated worldwide launch of its exciting new boat, the Targa 53 OPEN, at the Southampton Boat Show. The Targa 53 OPEN will take pride of place amongst Fairline’s impressive line-up of Squadron and Targa boats on the water at the show.

Torqeedo, the market leader in the growing electric marine propulsion industry, will showcase its extended electric motor collection too.

Olympians making an appearance include Gold Medalists: Giles Scott (Men’s Finn), Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark (470 Dinghy) and Silver Medalist: and Nick Dempsey (Men’s Finn). They will be joined by a number of other proud sailors fresh from their inspiring performances in Rio.
