VIDEO: Sargo 31 review

A combination of solid hull, punchy performance and a cosy wheelhouse make the Sargo 31 a fearsome year-round, fast passage maker

If you can get past the commercial looks of the Sargo 31 then there is a lot to like about this boat.

The unconventional styling disguises punchy performance and a lithe, tenacious hull that never fails to bring a smile to your face.

Our test boat had a single 400hp from Volvo and comfortably topped 30 knots but there is a version with twin 300hp D4s that will hit 45 knots.

Realted content:

More surprises lurk below where Sargo has managed to fit in two double cabins; a vee-berth forward and deceptively spacious aft cabin that is accessed by lifting a section of the dinette seating.

The deck design is incredibly safe and sliding doors on either side of the wheelhouse make moving around the boat and ventilating the saloon very easy.

The looks (and price) won’t be for everyone but the Sargo 31 is an undeniably capable machine.
