VIDEO: Beneteau Gran Turismo 38 Used Boat

With stylish looks, a good hull and plenty of space in the cabins the Beneteau Gran Turismo 38 is a great secondhand buy. Chris Jefferies guides you through it

If you are looking for a practical and stylish 40ft sportscruiser then the Beneteau Gran Turismo 38 is bound to be on your list.

A development of the Monte Carlo 37 the 38 had numerous improvements, most noticeably a central helm position and serious hike in the standard of materials, finish and and perceived quality.

Its cockpit delivers on space with a huge seating area opposite a well equipped wet-bar and the GRP sunroof means you can open yourself up to the elements – or, indeed, shut them out – in an instant.

Below decks the master is most likely the forward cabin with guests treated to a spacious and well laid-out twin cabin amidships. Neither is ensuite but share a wet room just aft of the galley.

The twin Volvo Penta D4 260hp motors came as standard with a sterndrive joystick and should just about nudge the 38 over 30 knots.
